- The first Lotte Plaza was opened in 1989 in Rockville, MD and has grown to five stores in the Baltimore and Washington DC metropolitan area. Lotte Plaza began by servicing the Korean community in Maryland and Virginia but later began to adapt to meet the changing international community. Today, every Lotte Plaza services a diverse ethnic population through various produce, seafood, and grocery items from Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, and India.
